Continuing to my previous tribute to the old Autorickshaw in Mangalore, here’s a story that Mangaloreans can relate to.
As kids, we used to travel to Mangalore for summer vacations. From the bus stand we used to catch these rickshaws that had a rear luggage compartment and fill it with our bags. The compartment door wouldn’t close due to the big bags and I was always scared that the bags might tumble out or someone would steal them. So, my job would be to look behind through the hazy rear window and ensure none of that happens.
After all, our precious toys would be inside those bags. Comment if fellow Mangaloreans and Udupites have faced this.
