Think Namma Bengaluru and the first thing that comes to mind is its salubrious weather and infamous traffic jams.
.
However, there’s one more aspect that only Bengalureans are familiar with – Auto Rickshaws🛺🛺🛺.
.
Any person who stays in Bengaluru will have a huge question mark of whether a rickshaw wala will come to their destination and if yes, how much will they charge.
.
Here, in this series of watercolour illustrations, I have tried to depict the unique quirks of ‘Auto Rajas’ of Bengaluru. My hearty thanks to @r_shalini who gave me the opportunity to do this ☺️☺️
.
1. Wonendaaf – Not a German word but a straight away demand of a higher fare
2. Baralla – A not so sweet symphony that rhymes with ‘lalala’. No means no! You can’t argue with a auto rickshaw wala
3. Meter mele ippatu kodi – Literally means you have to put a Rs. 20 note on top of the meter 😂
4. A common sighting on the roads of Bengaluru. Notorious for blocking all the god-earthly traffic that follows behind them.
